Hedge fund industry AUM passes US$4 trillion mark

According to HFR, the global hedge fund industry has passed the US$4 trillion mark in assets under management. This represents an increase of more than US$400 billion from the start of 2021. The HFRI Fund Weighted Composite Index returned +10.3% in 2021. At the same time, Preqin puts the hedge fund industry’s AUM at US$4.32 trillion following an 8.1% increase in assets during 2021.
